I have finally set up a professional cake blog with flavors, pricing, etc. The red button to the left will take you there! I have decided to change my business name due to the fact that my odd obsession with bovine lifeforms is.....shall we say....less than professional? I will probably still post cakes on this blog along with the gory details of making them; the new blog is just for information purposes. Topsy Turvy Tea Party Cake

Here is the one I just did for my daughter's 5-year-old party. I think I have finally learned the secret to these cakes. I have been cutting the angles too steep; so when you get it together it just doesn't look right. Better luck next time! I actually went through 3 cakes for the middle tier before I got it right. So my kids had cake for breakfast two days in a row. Whatcha gonna do?

I definitely prefer doing the top of the dress out of fondant rather than icing.

Mickey Mouse Cake

Here is the one I did for my son's 2nd birthday! It is just an 8" round with jumbo cupcakes for the ears. I had to cut another cupccake in half to elevate the ears to the top of mickey. For the pattern I printed a picture off the internet and traced it onto wax paper with piping gel. Then I flipped the traced picture over onto the top of the cake! I finished it off with a big bead border and dollar store figurines of Minnie, Goofy, and Donald.

Twilight Cake

Here is the cake I did for my friend's birthday - she's a twilight freak like so many of us out there. So I thought it would be fun to do an apple cake. I baked a heart-shaped cake and just carved an upside-down V in the bottom. Then I covered the cake (red velvet) with red candy melts. I piped a stem and leaves with buttercream icing, and my friend Becky did the writing.

For the lion's mane I used toasted coconut, and the lamb's fleece is mini marshmallows, cut in half.

Sleeping Beauty Cake

Here is the 7th birthday cake I did for a friend today. I had to dismember the doll pick in order to get the sleeves on her arms - but she's only a torso anyway, right?

I know, I'm psycho. But really, when you sculpt a dress out of fondant, you want to show off the details!

The Scrapbook Cake

My sister got married yesterday, and I did her wedding cake. Someone called it a scrapbook cake (I think because of the different ribbons on it). It was white fudge cake with raspberry filling. My other sister made the cake topper out of silk flowers, which matched the flowers in her bouquet.

Daisy Cake

Here is the cake I did for my daughter's preschool teacher's daughter. I made the daisies out of fondant, and the squiggly thing around the edges is supposed to be a ruffle border. Guess I am a little rusty!

Belle Cake

My girls are, like so many others their ages, obsessed with Disney Princesses. This year for my oldest's birthday I did a Belle cake. The top is fondant and the skirt is Butterscotch Cake with Buttercream frosting. I made the red roses out of Wilton Candy Melts and used their rose mold.

Over-the-Hill 50th Birthday Cake

Here is the over-the-hill cake I did for a friend's mom's birthday party. The bottom tier is krispy treat & the top two cakes are pumpkin with rum buttercream filling.

Baby Boy Shower Cake

Four batches of rice krispy treats (12-inch bottom layer), three cake mixes, three batches butter cream icing, two batches marshmallow fondant, and a lot of blood (well, not really - gross), sweat, and (almost) tears later, here it is!
